Larry D. Spence, Ph.D. is the Director of Undergraduate Learning Initiatives in the School of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. In 1995, he founded the Schreyer Institute for Innovation in Learning and served as director until 2000. Spence has taught at Penn State since 1970 and is an emeritus associate professor of political science. A winner of the Lindback award for outstanding teaching in 1986 he was chosen Alumni Teaching Fellow in 1992.
