Morris (The Viking Chief's Marriage Alliance) stuns in this steamy romance between the reluctant, strong Am�e �vreux and the gentle giant Jorund. Am�e is a novice in a nunnery, where she fled to escaped from her otherwise inevitable destiny as the wife of a brute. Then Jorund shows up with his Viking horde, and he says that he's been promised Am�e's hand in marriage. She must now leave the nunnery behind and return to her homeland with her new husband, by order of the king. As Am�e and Jorund fight the terrors of their pasts, they have trouble communicating with each other and understanding their own deep desires for stability, physical connection, and love. Tackling subjects of parental abuse, war, and infidelity, this book is more than its surface. VERDICT A stunning, steamy romance with deliciously flawed protagonists.
