A gripping apocalyptic thriller about a man and his family running for their lives in an America gone mad—from the New York Times bestselling author of Dark Matter and Recursion
No time to think. No time to ask why. Only time to run.
Five days ago, the epidemic of rage began.
Four days ago, the rash of senseless murders swept the nation.
Three days ago, the president addressed the country and begged for peace—even as the murders increased tenfold.
Two days ago, the killers began to mobilize.
One day ago, the power went out.
And tonight, the killers are reading the names of those to be killed over the Emergency Broadcast System.
Jack Colclough is listening over the battery-powered radio on his kitchen table in Albuquerque, and he just heard his name. People are coming to his house to kill him, his wife, his daughter, and his son.
He has no idea what’s happening, or why, but the time for questions is long past.
His only chance is to run.
Following an ordinary family on a desperate race through an America that’s destroying itself, Run is a terrifying, brutally stripped-down thriller from master storyteller Blake Crouch.

Scott Brick can be relied upon to deliver intensity in every audiobook he narrates, but he outdoes himself in this story of a family on the run in a world gone mad. Jack Colclough doesn't know why Americans started killing one another in a pointless frenzy of rage and violence, but it's up to him to keep his faithless wife and two loving children safe, and that means they need to run. Brick's frantic performance forces listeners to empathize with the desperate Jack as he narrowly escapes the killers. His portrayal of Jack's wife, Dee, is fraught with nuance. He delves into her unsavory past and her newfound respect and affection for Jack. This is an audiobook you can't put down. M.S. Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine

When an unknown event causes rage to take over the country, mayhem erupts as the afflicted begin to murder their neighbors. As power grids fail, the names of those to be murdered are read off on the radio. When Jack Colclough hears his name, his family becomes a target. Jack and his wife, son, and daughter flee Albuquerque, facing many dangers, in a desperate attempt to survive. Crouch's (Dark Matter) recently rereleased debut may be short on character development, but it delivers plenty of action and thrills. Scott Brick provides a grim, no-frills narration of a man desperate to survive and protect his family. From the moment the main character flees, through the action-packed middle and the climax, Brick's narration keeps listeners riveted as horror after horror unfolds. Brick's performance matches the book's taut pacing, highlighting Jack's grit and determination in the face of unimaginable circumstances. VERDICT Listeners will not be able to stop until the end, needing to know if Jack's run will be worth it. A fast-paced, exciting audio enhanced by excellent narration.--Elyssa Everling
